So I got a late b-day present from my sister and family in the form of a Best Buy gift card. What makes this so awesome though is that combined with previous gift cards from x-mas and rewards money I now have around $55 which is just enough for a video game. Like a video game that comes out on March 9th that I'm extremely hyped about and I won't have to pay a dime. This is great cause I've stopped myself from buying a single thing due to my shortage of cash and even if I have gift cards to pay for part of something I shouldn't be taking cash out of the bank unless it's for an emergency. But with that much in gift money and my brother having a Wii I can borrow, all will be good =)

Still sucks I don't have a job but this brightens up my day a bit.

I guess it's not surprising that Blizzard is making a WoW minis game. I mean, Gamesworkshop decided to make a MMORPG and now Blizz decides to make a tabletop miniatures game =D Nothing really against it, a minis game really isn't any competition against a tabletop wargame (honestly it'd be like saying Magic the Gathering is competition against Poker), it'll be neat to see what they do. Course you know they could've done a better job with the minis, they really don't look that great. They're so... lifeless and bland.

Whoo, 2008! Figured I'd through out some stuff since I'm kinda bored.

No new job offers yet. I put my resume out to a few more places a couple of days ago. I'm hoping some of them will call back relatively soon. I may in the mean time have to get a temp job doing retail somewhere. I know Meijer probably wouldn't mind having me back but if I do go back there I'm gonna try and not be a cashier again. Just need to get some cash in the pocket and quite frankly as much as I love all this free time, I'm quite bored.

Christmas was awesome. I got a brand new 20 inch flat panel TV. That was more of a Christmas/Graduation gift which I don't mind. I also got Command and Conquer 3 as well as Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass. Zelda is just a blast, I recommend anyone with a DS to pick it up. C&C3 is fun but I haven't been playing it as much. Might just be me and not being in that much of a rts mood. I'm sure I'll get back into it. I also got The Obsidian Trilogy to read from my girl as well as the D&D 3.5 Monster Manual. The Obsidian Trilogy books are really quite good and fun to read. Has a real nice flow to it and have been enjoying them a lot. And of course I also got some nice new clothes, some casual some work which is always good. My parents kind of screwed up on one of my presents and wrapped one of my brother-in-law's gifts to me. How do I know that? Well when I saw the blue and gold and the evil 'M' on the hoody I figured it wasn't for me =P It's all good though. They said I could pick a new gift and told them since the new Ork codex is coming out soon that they could get that for me. Should be able to pick that up tomorrow. I can't wait really, I've already seen it and am quite pleased. They said the codex should be in tomorrow at least. I'm hoping some of the new models will be there as well since I'd like to pick up the new Ork Boyz box. Looks like it has some nice bits that I can't wait to put together.

My birthday's coming up soon. The 25th for any interested. I think I might try and make a trip over to East Lansing to hang with some friends, play some 40k, goto a bar, or just chill with peeps in general. Should be some fun times!

Well that's pretty much it for me. Hopefully some more job offers will come my way soon and I can start up a real career. In the mean time I'll no doubt find something to occupy my time.

As I worry about my future of 2008, I look back on this year of accomplishments.

-- Graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Computer Science.
-- Convinced a hot gamer girl to marry me in the near future.

I'd say just from those it was a fantastic year.

Dear Valve, how is it you can make games so full of awesome (Half-life) yet make applications for them (Steam) so full of suck? It really confuses me.

P.S. Please send me free Portal. kthxbai

Okay so I've been playing Hellgate: London as it came out on Halloween, wooo! A neat publicity stunt that goes well with the theme. The game is full of fun. The problem? I don't really notice the difference between the final thing and the beta. This game was released way too early and is full of bugs. I really want to enjoy this game, but when it randomly doesn't let me pick up items, gets me stuck in random spots so that I have to use an unstuck option that throws me back to the beginning of the level, it randomly throw me back to the beginning of the level even when I don't use that option anyways, I can't see my teammates when I play multiplayer a lot of times (I have to rezone to fix it), and random other multiplayer options like trading and party invite windows either don't show up or get stuck on my screen for no reason, it can suck all that fun out of the game. At first I let the bugs go, figured they wouldn't happen all that often. The game reminded me so much of Diablo 2 that I was having fun anyways. But then they kept happening. These are all glaring issues that should not be happening frequently in a released game. It really saddens me since a lot of the developers are former Blizzard employees and you'd think with the strict quality control Blizzard has they would've taken a similar approach. Instead I feel like they got really excited about their game and figured "You can play it, let's release it! It's awesome!" Yes it is awesome. The game has so much potential fun to it, but all these bugs are taking their toll on my gameplay experience. This game should've been delayed, not pushed to be released on Halloween to satisfy a publicity stunt.

I finally got into the Hellgate: London beta. Bought the pre-order a week ago and they finally got back to me (if you pre-order you get an invite to it). However I have continued issues with downloading things in my web browsers, so sadly I sit here slowly messing with download options to download the beta .exe bit by bit. Oh well, probably a good thing for now since I have a ton of projects due by Wednesday and Thursday.

But yeah, if any of you liked Diablo you should check out the game. Can't wait to start playing it myself =)

Decided to get something new going. Switched up the layout and name. Just stuff anyone can pick from the customizable options menu in LJ so I don't take any credit for it. Just thought it'd be nice to get a new look going.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl has just become 100 times more awesome. Sonic joins the game! I'll finally be able to prove that Mario in fact will suck at life in a duel against Sonic. I'll finally be able to beat the living crap out of all Nintendo characters with my favorite blue hedgehog.
