Went to see the Incredible Hulk earlier today. It seems Marvel is on a streak here, it was pretty awesome. I don't think it was better then Iron Man but it was full of summer action fun. One thing I really liked was they pretty much went straight to the action and didn't bother too much with the whole origin story for the movie. It was pretty much taken care of right in the first few minutes.

I got linked to this trailer the other night. For those not familiar, Blood Bowl was an old game created by Games Workshop that took Warhammer Fantasy and put them on football teams. I never got to play it but it looked like a bunch of hilarious fun. Seeing a video game out of it just makes me smile. I have no idea if it'll be good or not but it just looks so hilariously awesome that I'll need to keep an eye on it and give it a shot.

Kung Fu Panda was hilarious! I recommend anyone looking for a good comedy to check it out. Next movie to check out: Hancock. The Happening looked interesting but I've been informed to wait until the DVD comes out if I want to satisfy that curiosity. Like most of M. Night Cantspellhislastname's movies it's good up until the twist ending. At least that's what I've been told by some friends. I might also need to check out the Hulk movie since I heard it was pretty good. My only problem is that I know the only reason they remade the movie so soon is because they want to make an Avengers movie and the Hulk is part of the original Avengers.

Stanley Cup finals '08

The Wings are going to the finals! I think these Stanley Cup finals are going to be the best the NHL has had in a long time. Now I am a little biased, being a big Red Wings fan, but we've proved we are the number one seed in the NHL and now we're playing against quite possibly the greatest Eastern Conference team in quite some time. The Penguins look like they got their stuff together. I think this series could go to game 7 triple overtime and you know what? I could care less because it's going to be fantastic hockey.

Red Wings vs. Penguins. Games begin this Saturday on the Versus channel. I recommend if you're interested in hockey even in the slightest that you watch them. If these teams continue to play their A game, it'll be some of the best of the sport you've ever seen.

Random musings

Update on me: Nothing new. Subbing for money (which has been pretty entertaining) and job searching. Job searching is the hardest job I've ever had. I think by the time I get a job it will feel easy compared to what I've been doing.

Saw Iron Man. You should to. It's awesome. Right up there with Batman Begin as one of the best 'comic-to-film' movies. Also stay after the credits to catch awesomeness. I'm looking forward to the summer movies. I really want to catch Hancock and Dark Knight, possibly Kung Fu Panda and Wall-e as well.

Question to my gamer friends: I've been hearing some good things about the DS title The World Ends With You. Has anyone played it? I'm curious to hear other peoples remarks on it.

EB #1

Nintendo Power had a poll not too long ago asking readers for their most wanted virtual console games. Guess who came in 1st place? Take a look for yourself.

Yep that's right Nintendo, people want Earthbound. Not only that, they want the prequel Mother. This'll hopefully beat some sense into their head that people want the damn game. Granted, yes, it's only a poll and polls aren't always accurate. However this does add to the EB fans arsenal of showing Nintendo how much the Mother series is wanted here. I understand Nintendo's hesitance at wanting to bring it over here again. I know it didn't fare well when it was released. But you'd think a simple VC release would be sufficient to test the North American waters for the series again wouldn't you?

I was told today, whilst substitute teaching (oh by the way I'm substitute teaching now) by a student that I looked a lot like Harry Potter. Normally I'd just shrug and not really take much thought to this comment except this would be the second time in my recent memory that I've been told I look like him from a complete stranger. Maybe I should go and try to get a job as a stunt double for Daniel Radcliffe.

One book, two movies

I was browsing today and found this interesting bit of news on the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows movie. Two movies for the final book? Not really sure how to react. I guess it's good so nothing important is missed but I also wonder why they couldn't do that with some of the other movies.

R.I.P. Gary Gygax

Goodbye our friend. You did so much for gaming and fantasy.

The serious and the tastefully amusing.

We will miss you Mr. Gygax.

Edit: To add to this and remember his great legacy, what was your first D&D (or for that matter, any roleplaying, gaming, or dorky) experience? I'm sure we've all had some interesting ones.
